The workshop "Copernicus data application and processing", organized by RedCONARE, IICA, University of Costa Rica and RedCLARA within the framework of the BELLA II project, will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the National High Technology Center . The main objective is to promote the development of capabilities in the use, application and processing of geospatial data in Costa Rica, as part of the deployment actions of the Copernicus Academy in the country. RedCONARE and RedCLARA lead the development of the Copernicus Academy in Costa Rica with the purpose of strengthening capabilities and knowledge management in Earth observation, facilitating the adoption of Copernicus data in new sectors and reducing the gap between competencies and the use of data in the country. In addition, the aim is to familiarize participants with the Copernicus Program and its benefits in solving or mitigating various problems such as climate change, fires and disasters. The European Union's Copernicus Program offers information services based on satellite Earth observation data and in situ data, with the aim of improving the quality of life of European citizens. These services are free and open access for their users. The workshop is aimed at professionals, officials, researchers, students and teachers interested in the use of geospatial data, who wish to gain experience with data from the Copernicus Program.
